Project Description:

Lindbergh & Associates completed a design build program to convert a former Buick Automotive Dealership to a new Harley Davidson dealership and maintenance facility. The purchase included a showroom and office complex, a spare parts/repair services facility, and a paint/body repair facility

The program included renovating and expanding the existing Buick showroom and moving the retail operations from the existing Harley Davidson showroom facility to the acquired Buick Dealership location. As the existing showroom/office complex was demolished to grade. A new 20,000 ft2 retail complex was constructed.

The existing services facility remained with renovations to approximately 7,000 ft2 of space to convert the facility from automotive to motor cycle repair and provide a new entry to the facility. The program was lead by a design-build contractor in conjunction with a local architect to develop the exterior facade and interior finishes.

L&A provided civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering services. The project objectives included:

  • Providing the engineering services to support the demolition, renovation, and new additions associated with the project.
  • Working with the architect and design-build contractor in the concept, detailed engineering design, and construction of the project utilizing a design-build approach.
  • Working on a fast track schedule so that the project is completed within the shortest reasonable execution time.
  • Identifying value-engineering approaches that minimize cost while still providing the concept and quality product desired by LCHD.
